Our Mission

Why We Exist

Mission Statement

North Star Classical Christian School exists so that students are anchored in the hope of the Gospel, equipped by the classical method, and prepared to lead and live wisely.

What We Believe

Our Core Values

Gospel

The gospel is the truth that we are more sinful and flawed than we ever dared to believe, and we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared to hope. The gospel is lived out by loving God and loving neighbor as yourself. We seek to be a community where the gospel is authentically and genuinely lived out (in classrooms, conversations, discipline, etc).

Hospitality

We believe that biblical hospitality teaches love of the stranger and demonstrates the way that God loves us. It is our desire to cultivate a community where people are known and loved as a reflection of God's relationship to us.

Obey & Abide

The most essential "work" that the Lord calls us to do is to obey and abide. Obedience is a way to show trust and love. Jesus tells us, "You are my friends if you do what I command." (John 15:14) To abide is complete dependence on Christ for life, fulfillment, and purpose. Jesus tells us, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me." (John 15:4)

Work & Rest

When rightly understood, the gospel invites us to find true rest in Christ. "Come to me… and I will give you rest" (Matt. 11:28). We believe that God Himself is the first Worker, and we labor because we are made in His image (Genesis 2:15). Our work reflects His character which is creative, purposeful, and good. Therefore, we hold rest and work together. "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1). We work from a place of rest, trusting that God is always at work in us.
